 About our presenter:

Daniel Zhang is a Chinese-born Chartered Accountant and Licensed Insolvency Practitioner who is fluent in both English and Mandarin. He has the advantage of understanding both Kiwi and Chinese culture and is New Zealand’s only Mandarin-speaking active Licensed Insolvency Practitioner.

Daniel can oversee everything from liquidation to receivership and has more than 15 years’ experience in business recovery and insolvency (including a secondment experience in London). This has given him extensive experience at managing businesses in distress and handling dispute resolution.

He is a good listener and strong communicator with a personable nature. Daniel partners with stakeholders to achieve a ‘win-win’ result for all concerned and takes pride in achieving sound results with his hands-on and pragmatic approach.

Daniel has worked on numerous insolvency and turnaround assignments across a broad range of industries, including property and construction, hospitality, and manufacturing.

Outside of work, Daniel’s new ‘hobby’ is running, and he is set to run two marathons in 2025 (Hawkes Bay and Auckland). Daniel also enjoys fishing and boating, skiing, rugby, and spending quality time with his young family.
