SECTION: Interaction with Insolvency Practitioners and Best Practices for Internal Processes

- Explain the role of the insolvency practitioner (liquidator/receiver/voluntary administrator) and what they do as part of the insolvency process (including how you get notified of an insolvency appointment
- Explain common indicators of insolvency, things to look out for when dealing with customers
- Will also discuss personal insolvency (bankruptcy)
 About our presenters:
Keaton Pronk is experienced with both personal and corporate insolvency and deals with both small to large sized businesses. He has experience in a number of industries including hospitality management, retail, entertainment, fashion and construction.
Prior to joining McDonald Vague Keaton worked for the MBIE Insolvency and Trustee Service as a Principal Insolvency Officer and held a Deputy Assignee warrant.
Keaton is a Chartered Accountant, Licenced Insolvency Practitioner, a member of RITANZ and INSOL International.
Steve Farquhar has extensive experience with corporate insolvency across a wide range of industries. Steve previously worked in PwC’s Business Restructuring practice, where he worked on some of New Zealand’s largest insolvency assignments. This was followed by a couple of years working for a medium sized insolvency practice, before joining McDonald Vague last year. Steve is a Licenced Insolvency Practitioner and a member of RITANZ and INSOL International.
